The power of communications during a pandemic

A pandemic is defined as “occurring over a wide geographic area and affecting an exceptionally high proportion of the population”.

With the latest influenza pandemic, communications has demostrated its importance and power. Following easy steps of hygiene can prevent influenza. Communication can contribute to the control of the pandemic. Moreover, communicators should use a common language and discourse on the media when talking to the public. Creating a common discourse will not confuse the public.
